The Old Hickory Grind is 59 miles with 5,800 feet of climbing. The biggest climb is gravel, distance of 3.3 miles long at a avg. Grade of 7.4% There are 4 gravel sections with the lengths being: 1st section is 8 miles, 2nd is 4 miles, 3rd is 6 miles, and the last section is 9 miles. The course will feel like a semi closed route, since a large portion is located in the national forest, but these are public roads. Rules of the Road Apply( stop at intersections, signal turns, stay to the right of the road, etc. ) There will be three aid stations at mile 16, mile 25, and mile 41, with SAG wagon following along the course. The course will be marked with Red Arrows on stakes and individuals at all major intersections.

Grade of 7.4% There are 2 gravel sections with the lengths being: 1st section is 8 miles, and the last section is 9 miles. The course will feel like a semi closed route, since a large portion is located in the national forest, but these are public roads. Rules of the Road Apply ( stop at intersections, signal turns, stay to the right of the road, etc. ) There will be one aid station at mile 19.5, with SAG wagon following along the course. The course will be marked with Red Arrows on stakes and individuals at all major intersections.

SUNDAY SEPT 17TH

Day of registration begins at 6:30am and closes at 7:30am. USAC licenses are not required, but are recommended. All riders must complete and sign a waiver. Ride begins rain or shine. USAC rules govern the ride. Riders must wear a USDOT or CPSC approved helmet anytime on a bike. No refunds. Organizer may combine or cancel elds of fewer than 6 riders. Entry fee surcharges: $3.25 USAC Insurance, USAC online registration fee $2.60, and US Forest Service fee $5.00. Held Under USA Cycling Event Permit #2017-2518.
